A Message from our Founder
In creating Gordon Philanthropies, I was guided by a sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunities I have enjoyed in my life, gratitude for the gifts that I have been given and for the rewards that I have earned.
It is not possible, though, to be grateful without recognizing those who have not shared the same access to opportunities that I have enjoyed. I believe strongly in the need to provide that equal access to opportunities, but not necessarily equal outcomes. Motivated, determined, capable individuals should not be denied access to fundamental human rights because of their race, ethnicity or financial condition. One of these fundamental human rights, in my view, is the access to quality education.
