We are incredibly grateful for the support from our community partners. Thanks to your continued collaboration and partnership, we can advance our foundation’s mission of implementing tailored reading programs to support the academic efforts of students enrolled in the Teachers and Books program and children who have incarcerated parents.
Promoting literacy is more than improving reading skills—it means fostering a love of reading and empowering students to succeed academically. The driving motivation behind Gordon Philanthropies’ philanthropic work is to support students and teachers in under-resourced communities through programs that are informed by cutting-edge research and to increase students’ literacy skills by providing books that engage them in reading. Literacy opens doors to opportunity: The ability to read and write is a path out of poverty for many. Research confirms that higher literacy skills lead to better income, health, and civic community engagement.
With your continued support, we are committed to improving students’ academic success in underserved communities through strong partnerships that promote literacy and support effective educational programs.
Looking forward to making a difference in 2025!
